Copyright, trademark, and licensing, including brand and content disputes

Daniel Glickman leads the firm's intellectual property practice. He works on copyright, trademark, and licensing for music and media companies, consumer brands, and the people who make and sell creative work. Every copyright, trademark, or licensing question at the firm goes to him.

He started in business and legal affairs at a major record label. There he cleared samples and titles, negotiated artist and distribution agreements, and learned how licensing deals are made and paid. He then spent nine years in the intellectual property group of a large New York firm, building trademark portfolios for national brands and litigating infringement cases.

Today he clears, registers, and enforces marks, and he sends and answers takedown notices. He negotiates licensing and distribution deals and reviews the IP terms in the firm's commercial agreements. When a dispute will not settle, he litigates it in the Southern District of New York. Mateo Reyes works with him on these matters.

Daniel grew up in Brooklyn and joined BRG in 2012 to build its intellectual property practice. His father, Harold Glickman, was one of the firm's three founders.
