Managing Partner

Richard M. Bloomfield

Commercial litigation, business disputes, white collar, and trusts and estates litigation

Richard Bloomfield is the firm's managing partner and its trial lawyer. He handles disputes between companies, partners, and shareholders, from the first demand letter through trial and appeal. Contract claims, business torts, fiduciary-duty cases, and fights over control of a closely held company make up most of his docket.

He also defends companies and executives in government inquiries and white collar matters. When a subpoena or a grand jury letter arrives, he is the first call.

Richard takes the firm's contested estates as well: will contests, fiduciary claims against executors and trustees, and family disputes over a business. Priya Raman works those matters with him, and Mateo Reyes works his commercial cases.

Richard grew up in the Bronx, the first lawyer in his family. He founded the firm in 1987 with Eleanor Rose and Harold Glickman, after eight years as a litigator at a large Manhattan firm. He has tried cases in New York state and federal courts for more than forty years. On the hard calls, whether to sue, settle, or try the case, the firm's final word is his.
